How the Plan Works:
Prior to McLeod Center's opening, all season ticket holders will be given the opportunity to personally select their seats in the new facility. The highest points accumulated in the Priority Seating Plan will determine order.
The actual seat selection process will occur over a short period of time during specially designated "Select Your Seat" nights. The seat selection process will be divided into two different Phases. Phase I will be limited to current Panther Scholarship Club members. Points accumulated under the priority seating plan will determine when each member will select their seats during Phase I. Those with the highest point accumulations will go first, an so on. All Phase I season ticket holders will select their seats before Phase II season ticket holders.
Phase II will include all season ticket holders who are not Panther Scholarship Club members; they will again proceed according to accumulated total points. We recommend Phase II season ticket holders consider making a gift to the Panther Scholarship Club to qualify them for Phase I seating!
How to accumulate points in the priority seating plan
Ten Year Giving History to the Panther Scholarship Club: 1993-2002
Points will be awarded based on 10 points per $1,000 of donations. This is an accumulation over the ten year period from 1993-2002.
Current and future gifts to the Panther Scholarship Club beginning in 2003
Points in this category will be based on your gift to the Panther Scholarship Club dating back to the 2003-04 season, and will be credited based on 10 points per $100 cash and 10 points per $200 gift-in-kind. Consistent and continued giving in this category can increase your point totals.
Purchase of men's basketball season tickets
Points in this category will be accumulated based on your purchase of men's basketball season tickets dating back to the 2003-04 season. Credit will be given at a rate of 20 points per season ticket purchased per year.
Non-Panther Scholarship Club giving to athletics (athletic endowments, insurance gifts, athletic capital projects, etc.
This category seeks to reward donors who have established an athletic endowed scholarship; have donated a paid-up life insurance policy to the Athletic Department or have given to Athletic Department capital projects.
Examples include an endowed scholarship to the wrestling program, a $5,000 gift to the outdoor track facility or a life insurance policy which names the UNI Athletic Department as sole beneficiary.
Credit will be awarded based on 10 points per $1,000 of donation.
Gifts to the Varsity Panther Club, Cat Club or other non-athletic scholarship or non-athletic capital specific gifts will not be used to accumulate points in this category.
McLeod Center and Human Performance Center Contributions
For Panther Scholarship Club Members
A one-time allocation of points will be made for current Panther Scholarship Club donors who make a financial pledge to the McLeod Center and/or the Human Performance Center fundraising effort. Pledges to these facility projects will be awarded based on 20 points per $1,000.
For Non-Panther Scholarship Club Members
A one-time allocation of points will be made for current Panther Scholarship Club donors who make a financial pledge to the McLeod Center and/or the Human Performance Center fundraising effort. Pledges to these facility projects will be awarded based on 10 points per $1,000.
The University reserves the right to provide special seating opportunities for all Leadership gift donors.
UNI Athletic Club Volunteers
By participating in the annual UNI Athletic Club Fund Drive as an active volunteer you will receive 5 points. You can also receive 5 bonus points each year by meeting any one of the following criteria:
- Personally secure $500 in new pledges (cash only)
- Recruit three new Panther Scholarship Club Members (minimum $150 contribution)
- Recruit a new Panther Scholarship Club Fund Drive volunteer who attains either of the preceding two goals. Points in this category can be earned dating back to 2003.
Point Ownership
Accumulated point totals remain the property of the individual or company officially listed as the donor on the Panther Scholarship Club membership roster. Transfer of points to other individuals will not be permitted. In the case of a contributor death, points accumulated by an individual will be credited automatically to the surviving spouse. Children or grandchildren will not be given points accumulated by parents or grandparents. In case of divorce or legal separation, points will be awarded as noted in any binding legal decree. The Chief Executive Officer, or designee, will receive priority points accumulated by a company. Point totals will be updated annually.
Maximum Seat Purchase during "Select Your Seat" Nights
The number of discounted season tickets you may purchase during the "Select Your Seat" process will be based on the level of Panther Scholarship Club giving, with a maximum of 16 season tickets available for purchase during Phase I at the highest donor level.
If you are a Panther Scholarship Club member who according to your giving level is entitled to 4 premium seats at a discount, those can be selected during Phase I. If you need 8 season tickets total you will be allowed to select those additional 4 seats after Phase I but before Phase II. The Panther Scholarship Club benefit involving discounted tickets at the time of seat selection will be in effect. For instance, if seat selection were today, the first four tickets would be able to be purchased at a discount; the four additional tickets would not qualify for a discount.

Priority seating plan Q & A
Q. Why the need for a Priority Seating Plan?
The priority seating plan has been structured to accommodate current Panther Scholarship Club (formerly Athletic Club) members, men's basketball season ticket holders and donors to the McLeod Center and Human Performance Center Complex. The goal is to reward those individuals, businesses and corporations to the Panther Scholarship Club at UNI. A seating plan such as ours guarantees objectivity in recognizing supporters of UNI Athletics.
Q. How can I be assured good seats in the McLeod Center?
The priority seating plan gives season ticket holders control over their seats. There are several ways you can improve you seating assignment. Joining the PSC would qualify you for Phase 1 seating, thus greatly enhancing your opportunity for seat selection. Additional opportunities include men's basketball season ticket commitment, McLeod Center and Human Performance Complex contributions, involvement as a Panther Scholarship Club Fund Drive Volunteer and other contributions to UNI Athletics outside of the Panther Scholarship Club all impact and improve your seating location.
Q. What effect will this plan have on my seat location?
Points within the Priority Seating Plan will determine the order of selection. "Select Your Seat" nights will be held prior to the opening of the arena, where season ticket holders get to actually select their own seat location. There will be two different phases to this selection process. Phase I will be limited to current Panther Scholarship Club members with season tickets. When selection in the first phase is complete, Phase II will include season ticket holders who are not Panther Scholarship Club members. Within each phase, individuals with the highest number of points will select first and continue in descending order.
Q. What can I do if I want season tickets, but do not contribute to the Panther Scholarship Club?
In this scenario, you would qualify for the Phase II selection process. The best route to enhancing your seats would be donating to the Panther Scholarship Club therefore joining the Phase I selection process.
Q. How many seats will I be able to purchase during the "Select Your Seat" nights?
The number of season tickets you may purchase is based on the level of Panther Scholarship Club contribution, with a maximum of 16 tickets during Phase I at the highest donor level. See the maximum seat purchase chart and details inside.
Q. I would like to have my season tickets next to a friend(s). How can we get seats together?
If a request of this nature is made to the ticket office or Panther Scholarship Club, the two parties may select their seats at the same time on "Select Your Seat" nights based on the lowest priority point total of the parties.
Q. If two or more parties have the same point total, who will receive seating priority?
Tie-breaker criteria are:
1. Current Panther Scholarship Club membership level.
2. Length of membership in the Panther Scholarship Club
3. Consecutive years as a season ticket holder
Q. Can a friend and I pool our points together so we can sit together?
No. Points remain the property of the individual or company officially listed as the donor to the Panther Scholarship Club. Transfer of points will not be allowed.
Q. How can I find out my history of giving to know where I stand with my points?
This information will be provided to each season ticket holder prior to the "Select Your Seat" nights. To get an updated point total, contact the Panther Scholarship Club at 319-273-2471 or 319-273-3819.
Q. I've been a season ticket holder for years but have never given to the Panther Scholarship Club. Why should I start now?
Season tickets do help the Athletic Department budget, but it is the contributions to the Panther Scholarship Club which support athletic scholarships. A well-supported Panther Scholarship Club is vital to sustain a high level of competitiveness for the Panthers.
Season ticket holding does give you priority points in the seating system, however a contribution to the Panther Scholarship Club would move you into Phase I seating and greatly improving your chances for better seats.
