Complete team-by-team results

 

The University of Northern Iowa men's golf team wrapped up its spring season Tuesday at the 2008 State Farm MVC Golf Championships in Davenport Iowa on the par-71 Davenport Golf Course.

 

The Panthers finished the tournament tied for sixth place after firing a 304 in the third round, giving them an overall three-round score of 902.

 

Andy White dropped down the leader board two spots from Monday, finishing tied for fourth place with a one-over-par 214. White posted a 75 in the third round.

 

Jordan Weber improved from Monday's performance. The senior tied for 15th place, posting a solid 73 in the third round to finish with an overall score of 224.

 

Kyle Bermel shot a 77 on the final 18 holes to finish in 29th place with a three-round score of 228.

 

Brook Maher and Troy Hoffman tied for 42nd place after posting identical scores of 240. Maher improved from Monday's first 36 holes and fired a low round 79 during the final 18 holes. Hoffman struggled on the second day of competition and carded an 83 in the final round.

 

White and Weber's top performances at the tournament and throughout the season also earned each senior all-conference honors.

 

Wichita State won the tournament by 24 strokes over second-place Southern Illinois, while the Shockers' Connor McHenry claimed individual medalist honors by finishing four strokes better than teammate Dustin Garza, who finished in second. McHenry also posted a tournament-low 66 in the second round. It marked the seventh title for Wichita State since 1999, while the Shockers have finished first or second at the league championship for 12-straight years.
