Sean Stender is beginning his third season as a conditioning specialist for the UNI wrestling team. Stender joined the staff in 2005 after a stellar career as a UNI student-athlete. Stender was a three-time all-American placing fourth in 2003, sixth in 2004 and second in 2005, becoming the first UNI wrestler to three-peat since Justin Greenlee in 1995. The Donahue, Iowa native placed at the state tournament three years, including claiming first in his senior campaign. Stender compiled a 149-12 in his career at North Scott High School with an untouchable 45-0 record his senior year. In West Regional competition, Stender took three consecutive titles at 197 pounds, sending him to the NCAA tournament where he placed every year for All-America honors. During his career as a Panther, he compiled a 94-33 record, 37-14 in duals. As a senior he was 34-7 overall with an 11-3 dual record. Stender also managed to go undefeated in major decisions (4-0), technical falls (1-0) and pins (7-0) in his collegiate career.
