Saluki Invitational Results Day 2

The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team closed out the Saluki Invitational with a fifth-place finish Monday in Carbondale, Ill.

 

The Panthers held on to their fifth place finish after firing a 307 on the second day of competition, giving them an overall score of 611. Southern Illinois took home top honors after posting a 285 and an overall score of 584. The Saluki's Braidy Hood took first-place individually, firing a 139 and a second-round score of 67.

 

Sophomore Molly Schemm (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) dropped down three spots from yesterday finishing in eighth place with a score of 149. Schemm posted a second-round score of 76.

 

Junior Heather Frye (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) finished the tournament tied for 22nd place, carding a 154 and a low round of 74. Redshirt freshman Sabrina Danielson (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/ Southeast Polk) moved up the leader board to finish tied for 29th place after firing a low-round 75 to finish with an overall score of 156.

 

Sophomore Ann Arnason (Grand Forks, N.D./Red River) followed close behind with a 31st place tie posting a 157 and a second-round score of 79.

 

Freshman Shanon Davis (Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and sophomore Brittany Bomar (Anchorage, Alaska/Robert Service) tied for 50th place as the duo shot a score of 163.

 

Junior Kim Weber (Bernard, Iowa/Cascade) finished the tournament tied for 57th place, registering a 165 and second-round score of 84 to round things out for the Panthers.

 

The Panthers wrap up their spring season in two weeks when they head to Omaha, Neb., for the State Farm MVC Championships.
